They ride is silent, you dont know what to say. you look over at him and he looks the same. he has this mysteriousness about him and you want to find out what it was. He looks just as you remembered. blonde hair, that covered his forehead and those dimples, how could you forget those, you were lost in thought when you heard him calling your name.
Kendall:”(YOUR NAME)? HELLO?”
You:”Oh im sorry, what?”
Kendall:”do you still live in the same house?”
he asks you shyly.
You:”oh yup i do!”
You love the way he said your name. you dont know why but it was just nice to hear coming out of his mouth. you pull up to your drive way but he doesnt go up it, he drops you off at the bottom. you gather your things and open the car door.
You:”would you like to come in? my dads not home so you dont have to worry.”
Kendall:”no its okay. i have to be some where.”
You:”oh well okay. bye see you tomorrow.”
kendall didnt say anything. you shut your door and he drove off. you look at the car as he drives off hoping there was something you could do to make the awkwardness between you guys vanish and have it like old times.
*FLASHBACK*
“kendall, (yourname)!! come on guys, time for dinner!”
you and kendall look at eachother and run downstairs to the table. your dad is sitting down and so is your step mom. you all eat and when your done you guys clear off the table. something happened in the kitchen and all the sudden you and kendall hear fighting. this was a daily routine. you guys look at eachother grab eachothers hand and head back upstairs to play. you guys were 8 when this all happened. kendalls mom was married to your dad. you dont even know why they got married cause all they do is fight. you and kendall got along great though. you know everything there is to know about a person. for his birthday you got him a guitar. he was amazed and loved it so much! you would hear it being played all the time. you loved having kendall and his mom living with you. it wasnt so lonely. since your dad always worked you actually had people to keep you company. but that was mainly why the marriage fell. cause your dad always worked. it was the saddest day of your life when kendall and his mom left. they moved far away and you would send them letters but they never reached them. they were the clostest thing to a family you ever had, thats why it was so sad when they left.
you go inside your house and thats when your phone rings.

you and kendall have had a history! what is he doing back, is the big question your wondering? you cant help but glance over at him every chance you could get. you want to talk to him but whenever you open your mouth nothing comes out. you have never been like that before. there is 2 mins left of the period.
(your private thought):”i hope Caleb just goes to lunch and doesnt come to my class. please oh please! i have to talk to kendall!”
*the bell rings and what do you know…*
Caleb is standing right by the door waving you to hurry. you grab your stuff and walk over to him he kisses the top of your forehead. you look back into the empty classroom and see kendall still sitting in his chair. maybe it was a good thing Caleb was there what could you possibly say to him after all this time. you get to lunch and like every other day your sitting at a table filled with the popular kids. no one liked you but Caleb. he was best friends with all of them. I thought that dating him would at least get you some more friends but boy were you wrong. Of course Kayla(your Best Friend) is sitting with you but she is all wrapped up in Craig(her boyfriend). You wish you had the relationship they had. it was….real! they knew everything about each other there best friends. with you and Caleb its different. You had to stay after school for band practice since you have a big concert coming up! so you told Kayla you’ll need a ride around 4. she takes you home everyday since your dad wont let you drive the car to school. and Caleb has football.
during band practice you found out that you got a solo! you were so happy you couldnt stop smiling. when rehearsal was over you went outside and called kayla. of course she doesnt pick up…what else is new! you call your dad but you dont know why you did that either. he is ALWAYS working. he leaves early in the morning and doesnt get home till ten, and when he is home hes in his office the whole time. you are basically on your own. your dad wasnt a person you could go to, let alone look up to. he was all you had though since your mom left you guys when you were little.
you sit there thinking of how you could get home when a whole flood of kids come out of the school. then you see him. you immediately look away and pretend to look at your phone. he walks past you and looks at you. you give a sly smile and he gives one back with a little wave. the crowd disappears to their cars. your fiddling with something in your bag when you hear a car pull in front of you. you look up and its kendall.
Kendall:”you need a ride?”
you nod. grab your things and get in….
